How To Turn Your Housework Into An Effective Full Body Workout

Although some housework certainly qualifies as workout based on its physical demands, you can always squeeze in a few additional moves for a full body workout that will burn even more calories and tone your muscles from head to toe.

1) Strap on ankle and wrist weights while going about your cleaning tasks to challenge your muscles in a whole new, creative way.

2) Perform leg and knee lifts during stationary tasks like dishwashing or cooking. This will strengthen your core muscles while improving your balance. As added bonus it will melt any stubborn fat deposits on your hips and thighs.

3) Squat for each piece of clothing while folding the laundry. Avoid bending over during this task to work your glutes and harmstrings.

4) Switch hands every five strokes while vacuuming or mopping floors. Wear your wrist weights to spice things up and keep your back straight.

5) Wrap resistance bands around your feet and keep them wide enough apart to challenge your leg muscles continously while washing the car, windows or dusting. You will feel the burn in your thighs and hips. Make sure to keep your core muscles tight and squeeze your butt during this exercise. Being busy should not give us a free pass to neglect our health. Since fitness should be as much a staple of a healthy life style as keeping a clean house we just have to be creative to get it all done.
