Today marked a great day for many runners at the New York Marathon. It was good weather and a great way to spend a Sunday, even Pamela Anderson from Baywatch ran today. The winners set great times but there were also so many who overcame adversity to run the race today. I encourage you to find a reason to get moving this winter. Start before the holidays. Start your week off in a good way.
There are so many ways you can spend a Sunday or a Monday. You can say, “I should” or you can say “I did”. You can sit on the couch and watch people run by or you can go out and complete 26.2 miles by foot and see one of the best cities in America. A marathon is an example of something that is not easy, but it’s about overcoming and doing something greater than you thought you might be able to do. On the attached video you can see a story about Meb Keflezighi who won in New York City just a few years ago. Meb explains what he thinks about when he runs, he mentions how hard his life was growing up, and he mentions what it feels like to win. It is a short video and will inspire you to do more. Get out and start with a few steps this fall and winter, find a 5K or half marathon to start with and then go… Go Run …For Your Life™
